Over, Under, Sideways, Down…

Hey everyone… Happy National Women’s Day!

I have just added another interview! This one is with Jim McCarty, who is The 1960’s British Invasion band The Yardbirds drummer, as well as original member of 1970’s prog-rock band Renaissance. I met Jim along with the other Yardbirds after their concert when they were on tour in 2017, where they did a fantastic concert at the Paramount Theatre in Peekskill, and recently was able to interview him through the help of my good friend Russ Garrett.

So be sure to check out his interview. As well, check out his book, Nobody Told Me, Jim’s long-awaited autobiography.

Shah-la, la-la-la-la Live For Today… Making Noise with Mr. Noise, Mark Dawson

Happy Super Bowl Sunday friends!

I have added another 1960’s Musician Interview, with Mark Dawson, who is currently a member of the 1960’s sensation The Grass Roots, as well as a multi-instrumentalist and solo recording artist in his own right. Mark is one of the nicest people I know, and his optimistic spirit and charismatic talent which has shown through in his online concerts, recent CD release, and his witty social media posts, have given us all a bit of hope through out this pandemic.

Check out his interview. 🙂

Give me a ticket for an airplane…

Hey again. I just completed an interview with my friend Rick Levy, who is currently a member of, and managing, the sixties blue-eyed soul band, The Box Tops. Rick also has been professionally involved with Jay & The Techniques, Herman’s Hermits, Tommy Roe, and Freddy Cannon just to name a few. He lives in northern Florida and enjoys pottery, yoga, and walks with his dog, Maddie, when he’s not on the road. Check out his interview!

I saw her sitting in the rain…

Hi everyone! I’m back after long hiatus… With everything going on with COVID19 social distancing–being furloughed, and the inability to see concerts right now–I decided it would be an ideal time to work on this website. I have a lot of plans for this site this summer, and hopefully soon it will be safe and accessible to go back to concerts and festivals.

The second to last concert I saw before everything was shut down was The Cowsills, at Mohegan Sun. I’m so grateful I had this experience before everything got shut down. It was my second time seeing The Cowsills live, and like before, I was completely awed by their incredible performance–thank you Rob for saving me a seat at The Wolf Den. 🙂

I have since then been in touch with various members of the performing group and their extended family, so now I have a Cowsills Page, and am interviewing them for this site. The first interview is with Ryan Cowsill. 🙂

Keep checking back. More coming soon.

Hello world! Here’s A Song That We’re Singing…

Welcome to my 1960’s Love site! Let loose and wear some love beads. This site is a project of mine which I have absolutely no idea which direction will go… Here you’ll find musician interviews with 1960’s teen idols, teen magazines, concert stories, and much more! Mostly from magazines I already have, 1960’s musicians I already know, and concerts I hope to go to–but more to come I’m sure. 🙂

And yes, I am aware that subject line is a *1970’s* Partridge Family song. But I LOVE that song–and maybe we’ll include some David Cassidy love in here too. 😉 And besides, the whole point of this site is to make you/me/everyone happy–so yes, let’s share the love. 🙂

This site is a work in progress. Please enjoy my 60’s teen magazine pages.

And my *very  first* interview with 1960’s British Invasion Sensation, Peter Noone!

love, Emily
